This home has a unique story. This home had a liner and sump pump installed in 1977! It has been doing its job for many, many years. But unfortunately, the technology was not very good back then and things don't last forever. After the homeowner noticed that the sump pump bucket was full of water he started investigating. They found it had stopped working and he was pretty sure the discharge line was gummed up. They had a lot of standing water in the crawl space from this and they started to notice a moist, musty smell in their home. They went on Home Advisor and started searching for crawl space experts. They came to find us at Clean CrawlSpace Inc. We got there old, non-working sump pump system out and put in a new one that will last them for many, many more years to come!
This homeowner was able to mitigate the moisture in his crawl space but a musty smell remained and, when the rains hit, water invaded the crawl space. He was interested in a vapor barrier to protect his home and seal the area off from the smell and water. We sent out our moisture control specialist and he was able to perform a full inspection and recommended the same solution as the homeowner, a vapor barrier. We got the privilege to transform his homeowner's crawl space with the CleanSpace 20 Mil Liner! Now the homeowner has no musty smell coming from the crawl space and can be confident the crawl space is well protected for years to come!
Many people ask us where the water goes that gets pumped out of their crawl space. There are many, many places to pump the water out of the crawl space. We can tie into drainage systems that are already in place. We can pump it right out of the home. But the best way is to pump the water far away from the home. This is a good example of making it a drainage system looks nice. We make it very invisible but at a safe distance away from the home!
This customer had just recently purchased this home to remodel. When they removed the floor they found standing water in there crawlspace! They liked the detailed bid and good pricing our sales rep gave so we got the privilege to fix their crawlspace issues. We sealed the crawlspace from any water by installing drainage to a sump pump, installing a sump pump, and installing a liner to completely encapsulate the crawlspace.
This home is located on a hill and while under a major remodel they noticed that there was water wicking through the soil downhill into there crawlspace making it damp and moist. The homeowner hired us to fix this problem by sealing his crawlspace. By sealing the crawlspace we are able to protect the underneath of the house and the HVAC system in the home. Plus it added to the value of the home!
This homeowner had noticed a musty moldy smell coming from their crawl space. So they decided to investigate, they crawled into the crawl space and found evidence of mold and a couple puddles of water. They were concerned about how this could be impacting their health so they called a plumbing company to come out and take a look. The plumbers found no broken pipes or problems with the plumbing so they recommended the homeowners call us at Clean CrawlSpace Inc. We sent out one of our moisture control specialist to perform a free inspection. We found mold growth due to high humidity. The humidity is caused by the water and warmth of the crawl space. To fix this our moisture control specialist recommended full crawl space encapsulation. The homeowners were excited to solve this issue so they decided to go ahead with our moisture control specialist recommendations. In these pictures, you can see the steps we take to encapsulate. In the before you see our trenching for proper drainage to the sump pump and the sump pump installed. Then we seal it all with the CleanSpace Encapsulation system!
When the rains came on this homeowner's home, it soaked the crawlspace. They waited for it to dry out and then decided to get it properly taken care of so when the rains come again they can have the peace of mind to know that their crawlspace was professionally encapsulated and waterproof!
Many crawl spaces have moisture issues. A lot also get up to 3 feet of water that floods the crawl space. This is why it is so important to make sure before any crawl space issues are fixed we must ensure the crawl space has proper drainage. In this picture, you can see one way we make sure if any water enters the crawl space gets pumped out. We dig trenching where water would collect and install perforated pipe then fill it with rock. The pipe runs to a sump pump to be pumped a safe distance away from the home.
