I have a crawl space that is behind a door next to an unfinished basement area. I am currently using the space for some storage, however, there is a pretty strong odor coming from the area and I'm worried about mold. Ideally I'd like to be able to use the crawl space area as a storage area in the future.

I discovered white mold on some suede shoes in my walk in closet. There is access to a storage area/crawl space from the back of my closet. I suspect the last time someone was in there they did not latch it all the way so it didn't seal.
