We had a mold inspector come out and he recommended the following in his report: Signs of historical flooding in the crawl space soil. Exposed soil in the crawl space, we recommend installation of an encapsulation system to cover the soil; Encapsulation uses a heavy duty polyethylene barrier to cover the entire crawl space, and foundation walls. The barrier is most effective if sealing tape is used to connect the overlapping barrier pieces, as well as being attached to the foundation walls. Once the area is sealed, based on your crawl space RH and moisture level, you may need to add a dehumidifier, extraction fan and or sump pump. If not present, we also recommend adding subfloor insulation which will add an additional barrier to moisture, vapors, MVOC's and mold entering the interior living area. Missing subfloor insulation system. We recommend installation of insulation with a vapor barrier to help prevent moisture and mold from entering the living areas, and to improve energy efficiency of the home. Inadequate ventilation of the crawl space, we recommend correction.

Everything was great except the price. I scored every category based on the service/work, but the price/value was a 6 out of 10. I have my own business and I know great service is expensive....but I don't know how you could justify the cost of materials (mass produced quality plastic sheeting) and 3 good men for about 10 hours to be worth $5,000., for well under 1000 feet of crawl space.

I would have liked a member of the management team to do an inspection following the completion of the job. A video of the space would be great. I strongly recommend you add post-installation inspections to your checklist. It should be inspected for quality control purposes. Bernie Benson
